Globepass

Privacy Policy

Effective 23 October 2026

Globepass is built so that your travels stay yours. This policy explains the little we collect, why, and the choices you have. It covers the Globepass app for iPhone and this website.

Who we are

Globepass is run by David Petrina, Czech Republic, who is the controller of your personal data. You can reach us at support@globepass.app.

What we collect, and why

To run your account and Globepass Pro, our server keeps four kinds of data. All of them are linked to your account; none is used to track you or to show ads:

Name. The name you share through Sign in with Apple when you first sign in, kept with your account profile.

Email address. The email from Sign in with Apple, often a private relay address. Used for your account and for support.

User ID. Your Globepass account ID and your Sign in with Apple user identifier.

Purchase history. The record of your Globepass Pro subscription or purchase that Apple sends to our server, so Pro follows you to every device and we can help with support and refunds.

We collect this only for the app to work. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a profile of you.

What never leaves your devices or your iCloud

Your trips, places, notes, costs, documents, visited countries and bucket list are stored on your devices and in your private iCloud database. We can't read them. Document numbers are also stored in iCloud's encrypted fields.

Photo locations are read on your iPhone during the photo import and never sent anywhere. Smart Import reads your scans and files on your iPhone with Apple's on-device frameworks; nothing goes to an outside service.

Searches for places go to Apple Maps, not to us.

The app has no analytics or crash-reporting tools, and this website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts.

Who processes data for us

Supabase hosts our server and database, which hold the account and purchase records above. Supabase acts on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses protect it.

Vercel hosts this website and keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser) for security and delivery. Active24 hosts our email, so support emails you send us are stored there; we keep them only as long as we need to help you.

Apple provides Sign in with Apple, iCloud, Apple Maps and App Store payments. Apple's own privacy policy applies to those services. Purchases are made with Apple: we never see your payment details.

Legal basis

We process your account and purchase data because we need it to provide the app and Globepass Pro to you, which is the performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep a log of App Store notifications because we have a legitimate interest in processing later notifications correctly (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. Deleting your account in the app removes your profile, your Sign in with Apple identifiers and your Pro record at once, and revokes Sign in with Apple's access. If you ask us by email, we do the same within 30 days. A log of App Store notifications is kept to process later notifications correctly; it holds transaction and product IDs, not your account.

Your choices

Export your data: in the app, Settings › Data › Export all data saves a .zip of all your trips and documents.

Delete your account: Settings › Account › Delete account. The app offers to export your data first. You can also email us at support@globepass.app from the address linked to your account, and we'll delete it for you.

Delete your travels: Settings › Data › Delete all data removes every trip, place, document and country mark from your devices and iCloud. Your account stays.

Turn off iCloud sync: in iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › See All (under Saved to iCloud), turn off Globepass. Your trips then stay on this iPhone only.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email support@globepass.app. We answer within one month.

You can also complain to the Czech data protection authority, the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ, uoou.gov.cz), or to the authority where you live.

Children

Globepass isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
